The fortified old town of D’alt Vila flies the flag for traditional Spain – a side to the island not always understood by the masses. D’alt Vila became our very own authentic playground. Living within the castle walls gave us the freedom to unturn every inch of the heritage site – we found it the perfect setting for lazy wanderings and an escape from the craziness found in most popular places on the island. It is a haven on higher ground. Amongst the intertwining whitewashed roads and trailing wisteria, you’ll find Spanish locals sat outside underneath the flowing laundry on the line above, playing cards as they sip their espressos. This is true Ibiza.
